Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Minimate Offer

The Blu-ray and DVD are headed our way December 3rd with the mind blowing CGI that made that Max Steel cartoon from some years back so damn..umm..popular? appealing? cutting edge? Listen, we know if you are a die hard Marvel fan, you're probably not looking forward to this DVD, and I can already report I attempted to show the film to a bunch of friends last weekend and we got 20 minutes or so in before we unanimously voted to switch over to some film with Sam Jackson cursing a lot (which could mean one of 500 films). Hulk makes constipated faces, Iron Man sounds like Spider-Man and the main bad guy appeared to be Zzzax..which is about as exciting as it sounds. One shining moment has Hulk using Iron Man as a club, but that's as awesome as it gets..well..in the initial moments we've watched so far...but I digress.

Required Reading: How Not To Be A Dick

By Emi Debos
“How Not To Be A Dick: An Everyday Etiquette Guide” by Meghan Doherty (from Zest Books) is such a fun book and is incredibly essential to being a good person. The sarcastic title gets right to the point of its message. I literally could not put this book down. Ask Paul, he was a witness. Every apartment with two or more roommates should keep a copy of this book in the living room, right next to the TV remote. “How Not To Be A Dick” is a great short read with lots of tips to proper etiquette styled to the iconic “Dick and Jane” book formats, but with current references to pop icons, embarrassing celebrity mishaps, and cheese logs (SOOO MANY CHEESE LOGS).

Classic cRPG Wasteland Returns

InXile Entertainment is proud to bring back the classic cRPG Wasteland. This critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic role-playing game, was first published in 1988. The game broke new ground as one of the first cRPGs that gave the player an open, reactive world with persistent consequences.

Welcome to The Wasteland. The year is 2087, eighty-nine years after an all-out nuclear war transformed the Earth into a hellish landscape where survival is a daily struggle against thirst, hunger, radiation, raiders and mutants. The player takes control of a band of Rangers, sent out to investigate a series of disturbances in The Wasteland, only to soon uncover a vast threat to all that remains of mankind.

This old school cRPG offers turn-based combat and top-down exploration, as well as mood-setting texts and a colorful variety of enemy portraits. Furthermore, inXile has enhanced the rerelease. First and foremost, the updated game will run on modern machines and at higher resolutions. Additionally, the game has expanded save game functionality over the original. Furthermore, the game has been expanded with a music track from Wasteland 2 composer Mark Morgan and now integrates texts from the original paragraph book and manual into the game., Finally, the game offers many optional overhauls such as uprezzed portraits, paragraph voice-over and a choice of playing the game upscaled and smoothed or in the original resolution.

Image Comics Manifest Destiny #1 Reviewed

Manifest Destiny #1 Review
(Image Comics)
By Andrew O’Brien

History is fun! No, really history is fantastic. It is one of the great wellsprings in fiction thanks to the sheer variety of stories you can tell within it. My personal favorite type of historical fiction is historical revisionism. You don’t seem convinced, but I guarantee you know what I’m talking about and that you also enjoy historical revisionism. For example, Assassin’s Creed is one of the most popular video game franchises of the last generation. It is also one of the greatest examples of modern historical revisionism I can think of.  If you aren’t an avid gamer (or you’ve been living under a rock for the past 7 or so years) Assassin’s Creed takes important points in history such as the Crusades, the Italian Renaissance, and the American Revolution, and adds a twist to them. You play through the games as a member of the Assassins, an ancient guild of killers who help influence those famous historical eras. Although the mystical elements of the game are completely false, the events and characters are very similar to what actually happened (sans the Assassins of course). So like I said you (yes even you) like history and historical revisionism as much as I do. So let’s talk about Lewis, Clark, and monsters.

Star Wars: Episode VII to Open December 18, 2015

And so..without a solid script nailed down, Disney announces the release date for Star Wars: Episode VII. That's never backfired for anyone before! All nerdy negativity aside, I'm wondering how other mega Star Wars fans are getting on with the promise of a whole new Star Wars universe opening up before them. On one hand, these projects will attract the best talent THE WORLD has to offer, putting our favorite creators at the wheel of fantastic new stories of Jedi and Sith in eternal conflict. On the other, there's no guarantees the new stories won't attempt to rewrite the past..and everything we love. TERROR!! Here's the first strike...

With pre-production in full-swing, a confirmed release date of December 18, 2015, has been set for Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII.

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” said Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios.
